Nelson Piquet comment on qualifying

Nelson Piquet will start 7th in his first ARCA Racing Series event tomorrow at Daytona Beach in Florida. He set a fastest lap of 49.966s during today’s qualifying session, reaching a top speed of 180.122mph. Tomorrow's Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 event will take place on the 2.5m speedway. Big name Indycar star Danica Patrick is also in action this weekend on her first ARCA event and qualified in 12th position. James Buescher, the defending race winner, will start from pole in the 43-car starting field.

Speaking after the session Nelson said: "I am really happy with the result today and a little surprised because the first time I drove was in Thursday practice. It was my first time in the ARCA car and my first time at Daytona. So I am really pleased with the result, especially in such a competitive session, there was just 0.5s between 1st and 15th. I can't wait for the race tomorrow."
